Second ERG Project Starts Operations In B.C. October 22, 2008 Energyevolution.com Pristine Power Inc. and ENMAX *** Green Power Inc. (EGPI) report commercial operations have commenced at a second, five-megawatt Energy Recovery Generation (ERG) project in British Columbia. The joint-venture at 150 Mile House, B.C. will operate under a 20-year electricity purchase agreement (EPA) with BC Hydro and Power Authority. This project followed the start of operations at the Savona ERG facility in August. Like the Savona project, the five-megawatt ERG project at 150 Mile House captures waste heat created by existing gas compressors on Spectra Energy Transmission West's main natural gas pipeline. Together the two projects will produce about 10 megawatts of clean electricity as defined in the B.C. government's guidelines, which is enough to power about 10,000 homes annually. The Savona and 150 Mile House projects are owned by EnPower Green Energy Generation Limited Partnership, jointly held by Pristine and EGPI, the ENMAX Corporation division. Total cost of the two projects is expected to be about $31.5 million, described by the companies as consistent with initial budget estimates. *** ENMAX President Gary Holden is a Keynote Speaker at our conference on Tuesday *** Register at www.ippbc.com/2008_conference or 604-461-4778 |
