BCTC Extends TEP Cluster RFI deadline and sets Workshop for early October

IPPBC members:

In response to IPPBC and IPPs request BCTC has extended the deadline for the “Submission of Information pursuant to the BCTC Transmission Expansion Policy (TEP) Implementation Request for Information, from August 15, 2007 to September 7, 2007.”

Details are at: http://www.bctc.com/community_engagement/events/2007/technical_planning_forum.htm

BCTC notes that the new deadline applies to the submission of information on clusters/generation projects only. They plan to discuss and invite input on TEP Investment Criteria at the first TEP workshop currently planned for the first week in October. IPPBC will forward the particulars of that workshop as soon as it is received.

Jim Gemmill, Chair of IPPBC’s Transmission Committee, has worked hard on the above items through several meetings and emails plus he has succeeded in getting BCTC to explicitly note our request to include a placeholder for IPP-driven transmission extensions in their current Capital Plan to reduce those barriers to  IPPs that are bidding the 2007 Call.

I have thanked BCTC for extending the Cluster submission deadline and invited them to speak on TEP at our November 4-6 conference.
