Sea Breeze files CPCN for 550 MW Vancouver Island Cable

Sea Breeze Pacific Regional Transmission System, Inc. has filed an application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) with the British Columbia Utilities Commission in respect to a new 550 MW high voltage direct current (HVDC Light®) submarine cable proposed for installation between Greater Vancouver and Greater Victoria, British Columbia.

John Tompkins, Chief Operating Officer, Sea Breeze Pacific Regional Transmission System, Inc. will speak at IPPBC conference on Panel #2: “Getting to and fitting the buyer” on Monday October 24. He will follow fellow panelists Theresa Conway, Powerex’s new President and CEO and Cam Lusztig, Director of Regulatory Affairs for BCTC. John will also speak about "Strategic Transmission Initiatives in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest" including Sea Breeze’s other proposed new transmission line from Vancouver Island to Anacortes, Washington.
