The mandate of the IPPBC is to develop a viable independent power industry in British Columbia that serves the public interest by providing cost-effective electricity through the efficient and environmentally responsible development of the Province's energy resources.

 6th ANNUAL CONFERENCE - RECORD ATTENDANCE!



• 568 attendees (paid delegates, speakers, exhibitors, vIPP room renters and student volunteers)
• 50 top executives presented their views on "BIDDING TO THE CALLS".
• 42 companies received profiling through Sponsorship events and handout items
• 44 Trade Show Exhibitor booths and 11 vIPP room rental events
• 150 people attended the Pre-conference reception
• 150+ people attended the Syntaris Power After Hours Reception
• 40 People went on the Furry Creek Field Trip
• 50 people went on the Powerex Trading Floor Field Trip


In addition to presentations on recent and upcoming Policy Activities and helpful Bidding Tools, First Nations were well represented in two well-attended panels on First Nations & IPPs. A brand new “wind powered” plug-in Electric Vehicle was unveiled. Minister Neufeld gave a very rousing speech. John MacDonald described his rationale and vision of “BC – a Green Energy Hub”. And ENMAX CEO Gary Holden illuminated many powerful examples of “thinking outside the business”.
